Wycombe Abbey School Hangzhou to open next year

Wycombe Abbey, one of the leading independent schools in the United Kingdom, unveiled its Hangzhou school on Nov 15 at a ceremony attended by over 500 parents and educators.

Yuan Bo, vice-president of the newly established school, said that the school will take advantage of international educational resources, bring in well-known educators, and implement advanced educational concepts to turn students aged between 3 and 18 into future leaders with an international vision.

According to Yuan, all members of the school’s education advisory committee come from prestigious universities, institutes and social organizations.

They will work together to design a curriculum, train teachers and gather resources from overseas to help with the development of the school.

Tig Mooney, founding headmaster of Wycome Abbey School Hangzhou, started his career as a school president in 1997. He has 21 years of management experience at private boarding schools in the UK and 10 years of management experience at international schools in Singapore.

He outlined the school’s educational philosophy, training objectives, training programs and development blueprint.

Wycome Abbey School China Hangzhou is located in the mountains of Xiaoshan district, covering an area of 13 hectares.

The school plans to open in September 2021. The campus is currently under construction and is expected to be put into operation in the first half of 2021.
